This week has been a bit different... Coach Kayla has been on vacation, so I've been following the plan she set out for me. This is the week we're supposed to be transitioning from heavy weights with moderate reps down to low weight with high reps. Ummmm. Hmmmmm. Wellllll............. it would seem, that left to my own devices... and I'm sure this will shock everyone who knows me... I overdo.
Drat! I am so sore that I've had to modify my cardio for this evening. I'll be doing the recumbent bike as opposed to the stairmaster. Why? I can't freakin' hold on to the stairmaster rails. Shoulders are shot. Back is toast. Chest is so tight it hurts to breathe. And my legs? Yeah, those are killed-dead, too. Oy! Why do I do this to myself? WTH?? Ugh. So, I'm poppin' ibuprofin, rubbin' on my Real Time Pain Relief, sucking down water and about to do my cardio for the evening. Then I'm off. Tomorrow is carb and rest day. Ahhhhhh! We'll be chilling out here at home, having my FIL and his wife over. They'll bbq hot dogs, have potato salad, chips, dips, beer, etc. I'll have my usual turkey breast, lean grilled beef, veggies but I get to add in some fun... watermelon! Strawberries! Kiwi! Banana! Might even make my banana cookies :-) Sweet Potato! Black Beans! Woooohoooo! I'm glad my carb day coincides with the family bbq ;-) I don't have any exercise tomorrow, so that'll be good for the knees and shoulders. True rest. Then Saturday is leg day and we start over again. :-) I'm down to just the one carb day each week, so I'm extra grateful for my UCAN powder! If you're wondering about my daily food... I hesitate to say anything at all (that whole shoe-drop-thing) but I have a 6-pack in there!!!! OMG!!!! I even made Bill look. I have NEVER seen abs like that. EVER! Pretty flipping awesome!!!!
